Job Title:Site Maintenance LeadBased: DerehamSalary:£24,496 to £26,845Hours: 37 hours per weekThe Site Maintenance Lead, alongside other members of the premises team, is responsible for planning, organising and completing, a programme of maintenance to the school buildings and equipment undertaking tasks appropriate to their skill set and arrangingwith the Trust Estates Manager for specialist support as required.The post holder has, alongside other members of the Premises Team, a 24-hour responsibility for the security of the school premises. Within this the hours of attendance for work will be determined by the needs of the school and undertaken by agreement withthe Trust Estates Manager and Chief Executive Officer. Key holder responsibilities extend beyond regular working hours to cater for emergencies at any time day or night.

• To assist with the maintenance, upkeep and refurbishment of the Trust estate, premises and contents as required
• To interpret, plan and work from verbal instructions, scale drawings, specifications and schedules
• To perform a wide range of work practices and trade skills within the concept of flexible multi skilled working to the Trust estate to include minor plumbing, drainage, decorations, grounds works, minor carpentry and masonry repairs.
• To learn new skills, techniques and practices for various trades, health and safety and grounds maintenance
• To attend and participate in training and development programmes relevant to the post and as directed by the Trust Estates Manager
• To assist with and carry out works within the departments planned maintenance schedule as required
• To be fully aware of and to comply with all departmental instructions and procedures relating to Health and Safety at Work and to recognise the responsibilities required under the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974. To carry out and comply with riskassessments for all risks associated with the activities of the position and the Trust.
• To undertake porterage duties with the removal and fitting of office and classroom furniture as directed by the Trust Estates Manager
• Incidentally to the primary functions of the job, to provide caretaker cover if required under the direction of the Trust Estates Manager.
• To assist with the removal and safe management of waste and comply with any recycling and environmental initiatives introduced by the Trust
• To undertake outside duties, for example clearance of drains and gullies, general tidying, incineration of rubbish, snow clearance, etc.
• To perform such other duties of a like nature as may from time to time be required by the Trust.

The ideal candidate will:Essential:

• FullUK driving licence
• Similar experience in a commercial setting
• General knowledge of site maintenance, security etc
• Willingness to travel across all Trust site
• Flexibility to answer emergencies outside of regular working hours

Desirable:

• Appropriate Health and Safety Qualification
• Appropriate qualifications/experience in building maintenance
• Experience of working in a school environment
