Job Description

Mercury Talent are recruiting a Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager due to increasing expansion and growth of a reputable internal construction company. The salary on offer is £40-45k per annumThe successful candidate will have previous experience in a purchasing and supply chain role ideally in the manufacturing or construction industry. CIPS is advantageous but not essential. You will have excellent negotiation skills, be highly organised andaccurate and work well under pressure. This a new role so you will be adept at setting up processes and bringing your knowledge and experience to improve the purchasing and supply function. To fit in with the team you must be able to communicate at all levels,show respect for your colleagues and support each other to ensure a great team atmosphere.Purchasing and Supply Chain Managers key responsibilities include:

  • Contacting suppliers and negotiating to achieve best and fair price on all materials
  • Liaise with Manufacturing to consolidate all suppliers to a preferred supplier method to achieve uniform pricing
  • Meet with all departments and set up a process to ensure that all purchasing is conducted by the purchasing department
  • Inform manufacturing or installation of any stock shortages or lead time delays on any items
  • Inventory and shipping management of all stock/materials
  • Ensuring CRM is up to date with supplier details, pricing and stock levels
