Job Description

Serve Talent have partnered with a well-established Engineering business to discover a Mechanical Design Engineer for their manufacturing facility based in Dereham, Norfolk. This business sits within the Agricultural industry and distribute their productsworldwide.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To manage projects and the design process from start to finish
  • To maintain and improve the quality of the company products and systems
  • Design bespoke parts for agricultural machinery
  • Support meetings with attendance and reports as required.
  • To respond, as necessary, to technical queries raised by other departments and suppliers.
  • To aid Sales, Project Management and Service in customer support.
  • To aid Planning Department to generate Works Orders and produce routings, when required.
  • To work the hours necessary to carry out the necessary duties. This will entail working a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required.
  • Conduct other tasks as may be reasonably requested
  • Compliance with Health and Safety procedures and good housekeeping.
Education / Qualification Requirements:HNC Level 4 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.Experience and Knowledge Requirements: Essential:
  • Experience in Solidworks.
  • Experience of the manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the design of agricultural equipment
  • Experience in creating bespoke design solutions
Skills and Competency Requirements:
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Initiative-taking team player with excellent interpersonal and cross-functional working skills.
  • Capable of prioritising, planning, and organising effectively in order to achieve objectives.
  • Highly self-motivated with a genuine desire to succeed and help move the business forward.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong diligence and problem-solving skills.
