Job Description

Group Financial ControllerDerby£80,000 to £85,000Hamilton Woods is recruiting on behalf of a US Listed Business to identify a talented Group Financial Controller. This client has been enjoying sustained growth across its various s markets and due to this growth, there are several interesting projects that the Group Financial Controller will be involved in.The successful candidate will not only be technically very strong with the ability to maintain the smooth running of this established finance team but also show great people skills with past experience of managing a diverse finance function, in order to get the best out of a team.As well as managing a team acting as a business partner to the UK CFO, responsibilities will include:

  • You will take full responsibility for the Financial Controls and Processes of the Group from a Sarbanes Oxley ("Sox") perspective
  • You will be a natural leader and people manager who helps to coach the team, driving individual performance and continual improvement with a strong emphasis on developing the team to work in a more autonomous way
  • You will quickly identify gaps in skill and work with the team to bridge these gaps
  • You ideally have had past experience of implementing ERP systems. Youll be able to identify system improvements that can help to refine financial processes, whilst also making sure that the integrity of that information is of paramount importance
  • Whilst generating the information is important, so is what you use it for! You will be someone who challenges the status quo and uses financial information to drive business outcomes and changes in behaviour across all levels of the organisations leadership team
  • Requirements
  • A sound technical background
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified with at least 5 years PQE
  • Highly computer literate and familiar with all Microsoft office tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent people skills and man management
  • Experience of implementing an ERP system, ideally Microsoft D365 desirable but not essential
  • Working in a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines
  • Experience of working with US businesses and USGAAP essential
  • Past exposure to Sarbanes Oxley ("Sox") desirable but not essential
