This role involves working closely with clinicians to provide integrated packages of psychological therapies and employment support to people with common mental health problems who are struggling at work, off sick from work or looking to find work. The EmploymentAdvisor (EA) will work with around 30-38 people at any one time and is likely to work with around 100-120 clients in any one year.The EA is responsible for co-ordinating the integrated package of care to ensure that therapy and employment support are provided to support the individual to improve their employment position. The EA will work directly with Jobcentre Plus, employers, tradeunions and employment agencies to keep people in employment and secure employment opportunities.The EA will provide advice about the use of reasonable adjustment, graduated return to work, access to work and other mechanisms to support individuals and employers to support people in work.Duties;- To manage a caseload of participants (up to 120 people per year) who have experienced mental health problems and who wish to retain, return to or regain employment. - Providing a personalised support service, focusing on the aspirations of the participant and using evidence based interventions in order to offer the most effective support.- Coordinating with other IAPT services where participants are accessing support to provide a holistic package of support. - Conducting participant assessments, discussing job goals and potential barriers to work, conducting job search activity, action planning, consideration of external job seeker support, interview support and training on interviewing preparation.- Assessing the impact of mental health conditions and the potential barriers presented as a result of these, including potential primary or secondary health conditions and disabilities and the work implications of these conditions.- Working closely with local agencies and employers to identify appropriate job vacancies, provide advocacy, and support sustainable returns to work.- Signposting to other agencies who will be able to provide advice on other benefits or support as required. - Provision of continued personalised support after a participant has returned to work or secured employment to help them to sustain employment - To report any progress, change or adverse event promptly to a senior EA.
