Computer Vision ScientistLong Eaton, Derbyshire£40,000 to £45,000 + Flexible Working / Work from Home + Progression + Technical Advancement + Pension + HolidayExcellent opportunity for a Computer Science PhD graduate with an interest Computer Vision experience to join a fascinating start-up in a highly varied and autonomous position offering amazing opportunities for progression.This company are an exciting start-up that are introducing fascinating new technologies to their market to help reduce costs, improve safety, and lower risk. Through growth they are looking for a Computer Vision Scientist to join their team in a highly autonomous role with huge long term progression potential.In this role you will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing the image processing algorithms that run on the companys laparoscopic visualisation platform. This is a very varied and flexible role where you will be able to manage your hours as you see fit and have the flexibility to work at home 4 days a week. As the company grows there will be clear progression opportunities available.The ideal candidate will hold a masters degree or preferably a PhD in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, in the field image processing. Demonstrable experience of developing real-time computer vision algorithms. Training will be provided in this role on GPUs using OpenCL and CUDA.This is a fantastic opportunity to join an interesting business at the ground floor in a highly flexible, varied, and autonomous role.The role:*Develop and optimise existing image processing algorithms, both in terms of user-perceived visual performance, and execution speed*Demonstrate creativity in proposing, researching and developing innovative new algorithms that may have relevance to the platform*Delivering high-quality code, according to specifications*Delivering high-quality design documentation according to medical software standards*Performing tests, code reviews, and other quality assurance tasks*Fast prototyping in support of proof-of-principle activities*Contributing to role-specific R&D planning*Monday to Friday, 40 hour working week, flexible working available four days a weekThe person:*Masters or PhD qualified in Computer Science or similar (image processing experience beneficial)*Experience of developing real-time computer vision algorithms*Training provided on GPUs using OpenCL and CUDA.*Able to commute into the office 1 day a week. Can work from home or the office.
