Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Workshop Supervisor for a family-owned growing client on the outskirts of Derbyshire who offer a committed and supportive workspace.The main purpose of the role is to inspect, diagnose faults, testing, repairing and reassembling engines, trailers, and other transport mechanisms. You will also manage and allocate jobs to the technicians and apprentices.To be considered for the Workshop Supervisor role, you’ll require the following essentials:

  • Provide heavy vehicle technicians qualifications; City and Guilds/ NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Hold a full driving licence with Cat C
  • Demonstrate relevant Supervisory experience or hold a Supervisory Management qualification
  • Competent with the use of Microsoft and Excel Applications
  • Ideally hold a Master Technician qualification, however not essential
The ideal candidate will also hold a full driving licence as travel to sites across Derbyshire may be required.Working with the Engineering Manager, you’ll also be:
  • Allocate and Manager the teams’ workloads and ensure they work to the best of their ability
  • Attend weekly meetings with staff and ensure the smooth running of business whilst including the companies messages
  • Ensure that Health & safety policies and processes are up to date and adhered to by all Managers and Staff
  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of fleet trailers, vehicles, and units.
  • Regular vehicle inspections ensuring the all MOT’s are up to date and meet VOSA standards
  • Managing the teams activities and ensuring KPI’s and budgets are inline with the companies SLA’s as per the Dealer Principles Instructions
  • Liaise with suppliers of rental vehicles and trailers with regard to PMI’s, servicing and breakdowns
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, whilst building relationships with team members and departments
  • Ensure that team work in a cohesive manner in order to achieve the vehicle availability requirements of the business, including service, PMI’s and breakdowns.
Salary & Working Hours
  • £38,500 per annum
  • Full Time; 40 hours per week with upto 10 hours per week OT (paid at time and a half)
  • Monday – Friday, working hours between 6am – 6pm
