Warehouse Operation Manager | Derby, United Kingdom | GB11877We have a fantastic opportunity within our Drinks Logistic Division for a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at our National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Derby. Kuehne+Nagel Drinks Logistics is a specialist drinks only service provision, with a client portfolio of internationally recognised brands, it is our mission to create profitable growth by becoming the partner of choice to the Drinks Industry.YOUR ROLEThis is a strategic role and you will play a vital part in shaping the business along with the culture and approach of the management and supporting and developing the team through leading, coaching, and communicating - facilitating a focus on business excellence and continuous improvement of operational efficiency and customer service. Reporting directly to the NDCs General Manager, the successful candidate will directly manage a team of shift managers, support managers and warehouse operatives to ensure the cost effectiveness, efficiency, and service standards of the NDC.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The safe operation of warehousing activities across the NDC, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation and safe systems of work in line with company policy and HSE legislation.
  • Deliver service to the customers of KNDL, from the NDC, ensuring that key performance indicators are achieved and exceeded.
  • Oversee employee relations and promote the development of a positive, co-operative and mutually supportive working culture amongst all employees.
  • Managing the warehouse operation within agreed annual budgets
  • Ensuring compliance of the operation to the Quality systems, industry standards and legal requirements. Operational decisions concerning processes across the sites which impact on costs and service
  • Recruiting, training, motivating and developing teams, so that they deliver the required levels of customer service, productivity and cost-effectiveness
  • Continuously seek to optimise the cost-effectiveness, productivity and customer service levels of the NDC through planned and regular communication mechanisms and the proactive accessing of Working Agreements.
  • Manage the Industrial Relations of the NDC in all aspects, including Disciplinary and Grievance; Company sickness and absence policy.
  • Analyse forecasts and plan resources to the optimum level. Manage relations with the suppliers of agency staff, MHE, facilities. Build proactive relationships with internal departments (including planning, transport, HR, KNPS, finance)

  • Extensive operational management experience
  • Experienced in managing large scale operations
  • Experience in managing employee relations and customer/trading relations.
  • People management experience and line management experience
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent management, written and verbal communication and influencing skills
  • Team working and customer focussed attitude.
  • Excellent financial acumen and commercial awareness. A good level of IT literacy.
