Job Description

Technical AuthorRailDerby£34,000 - £45,000 paWe are recruiting for an international, world-leading organisation, who are looking for a Technical Author to join the team in Derby.The role of Technical Author will include: -

  • Producing the mandatory documentation to support the design projects, working alongside Design Engineers and Project Engineers.
  • Creating a modification procedure from the project design drawings, survey photographs and existing rail vehicle information.
  • Creating new maintenance procedures as necessary from the design drawings and OEM suppliers information.
  • Assessing any existing maintenance instructions and amend as necessary.
  • When necessary, creating new Client templates in MS Word to support the above.
  • Underpinning the Engineering Change Packs
  • Stand-alone production of technical documentation for project tasks.
    • To be considered for the Technical Author role, you will have experience of: -
  • Rail rolling stock either from a build, maintenance or modification background
  • Significant relevant industry experience to work in a stand-alone role
