Job Description

Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Primary base - Derby).We are inviting applications from experienced, motivated and enthusiastic HCPC registered candidates to join our friendly and hard working team in Microbiology department at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. Post registration experience in routine Microbiology is essential.Candidates must have the IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent qualification or be within 6 months of completion. We have full training status with the IBMS and we support continuing professional development. The candidate must be self-motivated and organised in order to work as part of a flexible team.We are part of a modern laboratory within the newly formed Derbyshire Pathology joint venture for Derby and Chesterfield labs which are both accredited to ISO 15189.The department performs bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, serology, molecular testing and operates an extended working day from 8am to 8pm.This is an opportunity to join a friendly well motivated team and we would encourage you to contact us to discuss the post further or to arrange an informal visit.In return we will offer:
