Job Description

My client is looking for a Solicitor / Litigation Executive with 2+ years PQE with Debt Recovery to join their team in Derby, Derbyshire.My clients award-winning firm stands apart from other practices; they are incredibly entrepreneurial, creative and offer great flexibility to their staff. Their success is down to their people and the strong relationship they have builtwith their clients.Due to significant growth, the firm are now looking to hire an experienced Solicitor/Litigation Executive for their multi award winning B2B debt recovery operations. The Solicitor/Litigation Executive will be responsible for managing their own caseload ofsenior and complex matters, providing legal advice for some of the biggest household name brands in the UK.Key Responsibilities

  • Leading your own caseload of litigated matters within the Debt Recovery department.
  • Acting for the firm’s clients at all stages of the debt recovery process, from sending letters of claim, issuing court proceedings, requesting judgment, and taking enforcement action.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients’ aged debt matters and reporting on activities to the Head of Debt Services, as required.
  • Demonstrating technical and strategic knowledge about the firm’s debt recovery services and procedures, both internally and externally.
  • Working alongside colleagues across the department to maximise revenues generated from successful recoveries.
  • Maintaining high standards of financial management and record keeping in the firm’s case management systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE in a commercial debt recovery role in a legal firm.
  • Have experience in managing your own significant caseload of complex debt recovery matters.
  • Possess excellent IT skills with the ability to produce informative reports.
