Job Description

The company has been a leading provider of defence and healthcare information and artificial intelligence systems for over 30 years. As part of our on-going expansion plans we are looking for team players to join our development team who will hit the ground running working with like minded developers.You will be working with the latest software and hardware technologies and be given the opportunity to build new product features on a variety of projects and employ a wide and varied range of technologies. You will be expected to have real input on innovative functionality additions and data processing, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).In return, you will be given the opportunity to continue developing your technical skills and you will be provided with unlimited room for progression in a company that values its developers and their career progression.The business has an excellent record for personal development and firmly believes in investing in staff and training.Responsibilities:As a member of the software development team, your specific responsibilities will include:- Ensuring high-quality and robust implementation of core software components.- Supporting maintenance of existing capability (bug fixing, code refactoring, etc).- Design and development of new features based on requests from both product management and internal strategic initiatives.- Participating in regularly scheduled team meetings and contributing ideas to drive innovation in our technology.- Collaborate with other developers to design advanced artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) algorithms.- Supporting other developers through design discussion and code review.- You will be responsible for designing, analyzing requirements, developing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining our various defence and healthcare solutions.- Ensure that code adheres to standards and best practices for performance, speed, scalability, and quality.- Practice Agile development methods and exemplify core Agile values of transparency, collaboration, acceptance of change, and iterative development.Essential Experience:- A minimum of 3 years commercial experience with expertise in object-oriented software development.- Expertise in development of complex software applications using modern design patterns and principles.Essential Technical Experience:- C#- ASP.NET / MVC- CSS- Bootstrap- Entity Framework- LINQ- jQuery / JavaScript / AJAX- Source Control - GIT / TFS- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 upwards- Object oriented programming- Ability to gather requirementsPersonal Skills:- Team player who is comfortable communicating with all members of the team.- Excellent problem-solving skills.- Strong organisational skills.- A willingness and passion for learning.- Ability to learn new languages and technologies.- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.- Attention to detail.Beneficial Skills:- XML- XSLT- WebAPI- Artificial Intelligence (AI)- Machine Learning (ML)- TypeScriptBenefits:- Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.- Career development and training plans for all team members.- All the latest hardware and software you need to do your job.- A chance to grow with our fast-growing company.- Motivated and skilled colleagues.- Contributory pension scheme.- 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).- Fantastic company culture.- Free car parking.Salary Range:- £28,000 to £35,000
