Job Title: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching AssistantLocation: Derby, UKContract Type: Long-term, 1 form entry primary schoolJob Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant to join our team in a small 1 form entry primary school in Derby. This role involves working closely with a child diagnosed with Autism SpectrumDisorder (ASD). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to enable the child to thrive academically and socially.Responsibilities:Provide one-to-one support for a child with ASD, both inside and outside the classroom.Implement and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of the child.Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans.Monitor and track the progress of the child, providing regular feedback to the teaching team and parents/guardians.Requirements:Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) pupils, with a focus on children with ASD.Hands-on experience implementing strategies to support children with additional needs.Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with working in a 1 form entry primary school setting.Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of children with SEN.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Desirable:A valid driving license, as the location of the school may require travel.How to Apply:If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs, and you meet the requirements outlined above, we would love to hear from you.
