Job Description

Quality Technician required for a client in Derby to undertake a full time role within the rail sectorThis is a great opportunity to join a company who are one of the market specialists within the Paint solutions and engineering IndustryThis Quality Technician position is to join a new team working a set shift of Friday, Saturday and Sunday Night 7pm-7amThe Key Responsibilities of Quality Technician includes-

  • Collate and display the substrate defect analysis for virgin products supplied, update and submit to your manager on a weekly basis in order to relay all quality related issues directly to the supplier including mould run supervision.
  • Participate in 8D/CCAR activities
  • Assist in IRS/Quality alerts and brief relevant staff on issues
  • Process audits and continuous improvement
  • Conduct weekly process audits on incoming and outgoing products ensuring all quality standards are being met, along with process audits on the entire paint operations.
  • To be available at all times to make decisions for quality related concerns based in production demand (by using the quality manuals supplied to you for this purpose).
  • Understand customer specifications and expectations. Ensure you are familiar with the customer and quality specifications for each part.
  • Dimensionally inspect parts to Customer Standard/control plan
  • Complete Statistical Process Control documentation and record all instances of failure on the appropriate reporting format.
  • Forward results and information to the relevant personnel.
  • Ensure compliance of gauges & measurement equipment
  • Manage all Paintbox metrology reporting to support successful new project introduction and tool maturation.
  • The ideal candidate though will be required to be flexible to support other departments and carry out reasonable tasks as requested by your Manager in line with department/company objectives.
