Job Description

Payroll OfficerDuration:InterimLocation:Derby, DE1Hours:MondayFriday, 9am5pm, 37.5 hoursSalary:£16 per hourAn opening has arisen for a Payroll Officer in a public sector environment. Candidates must come from a payroll background.The successful candidate have experience in a similar position and be responsible for:

  • Processing new starters and leavers as well as amending personal changes
  • Administrating absences and processing statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP
  • Reviewing payroll processes in addition to carried out weekly and monthly payroll reconciliations
  • Analysing and reporting on financial data as well as running employee benefit schemes
  • Preparing Excel payroll spreadsheets and importing them to the system
  • Processing all tax documentation including P45s and P46s
  • Calculating payroll from timesheets and general payroll administration
  • Completing and submitting payroll year end
  • Possessing excellent communication skills to assist with query resolution
