Job Description

Location: Derby, DerbyshireSalary: £12 - £15phContract: Temporary (6-8weeks)Currently working alongside an exciting aerospace business who looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join on a temporary basis, to process the local payroll ensuring all employees are paid accurately in a timely manner whilst complying with legislation andCompany Policy.Main Duties Include:

  • Process employee salaries on a monthly basis ensuring that all variables pay elements are paid /deducted in line with company policy and local legislation.
  • Prepare payroll reports within scheduled timeframes receiving report sign off by relevant authorised level.
  • Prepare and post journals to the financial ledgers to ensure that payroll costs are accounted for in time for month end reporting, reconciling payroll control accounts and resolving any variances arising.
  • Process payments to employees, local authorities and other agencies ensuring that submission deadlines are always met.
  • Implement software changes, regarding the payroll system, to ensure that procedures and reports are efficient, effective and to ensure local authority bodies compliance.
  • Proactively explore ideas to improve processes and service levels across the business
  • Participation in improvement activities at department/company level to enhance business performance.
  • Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy, and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety, Data Protection and all those contained within the issued Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Undertake other duties and tasks that may be allocated that are appropriate to the job.
Ideal candidate should:
  • Have significant relevant experience in computerised payroll system, working in a large company (>250 employees)
  • Have some experience in manual payroll calculations
  • Have experienced in a similar role
  • Payroll or Accountancy Qualification "AAT/CIPD" (Desired)
  • Know Payroll Legislation
  • Knowledge of Excel
