Job Description

Are you a skilled Paraplanning and Technical specialist who is looking to build on their managerial skillsThis rapidly expanding IFA firm seeks to recruit a skilled Paraplanning Manager to join their practice and ensure that the Financial Planners receive a first-class service.Your role will be to lead the Paraplanning team and work closely with the Financial Planning Director to ensure that an accurate and well organised service is delivered to the clients. You will be responsible for overseeing the work produced by your teamas well as being involved in complex cases. You will also ensure that industry and regulatory developments are communicated to staff and that skills and maintained and enhanced.Duties for the role to include:

  • Undertake Paraplanner KPI analysis and develop action plans to address identified shortfalls
  • Develop the Paraplanning team by setting longer term development objectives as monitored through the Annual Appraisal system
  • Ensure Department, Compliance and Company procedures are met, trained, fully understood
  • Liaison with external resources to help manage increased workloads over shorter terms
  • Development and maintenance of Suitability Report content and updating of template documents in line with required changes
  • Involvement in additional projects / activities outside of running the Paraplanning team as identified by the wider business where you are considered a subject matter expert
  • Monitor workload and support levels, collaborate with other Dept Managers where necessary
  • Mentor new employees to ensure their sign off as competent within agreed timescales
  • Address areas of underperformance, capability or conduct and align to HR processes
  • Completion/drafting of Suitability Reports, in times of workload spikes/reduced team resource
The successful candidate will have experience of Paraplanning gained within an IFA environment and have supervisory and managerial skills. You will have the ability to conduct detailed research and produce reports. You will have in depth knowledge of Investment,Tax, Protection and Pension products and be fully up to date with industry developments. You will have achieved or be close to Diploma status and have strong IT and communication skills.
