Mechanical Systems Engineer37.5 Hours per week Monday - FridaySalary NegotiableDerbyThis is a 6 month FTC with possibility of extension for a further 6 months.Overview:Grafton Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a Global Engineering and Technology solutions business to source a Mechanical Systems Engineer. Our client is an expert in engineering, manufacturing, and digital technology to deliver and support their next-generationsolutions that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.Roles of the Mechanical System Engineer:Defining the mechanical requirements for the project, integrating the new traction equipment into the vehicles, Identify any equipment that needs to be relocatedAssess the implications of the added equipment to:- Vehicle mass and mass distribution- Gauging- Existing vehicle structureSupport the development of drawings and design work for the project, Review and approve the outputs from the design team, Provide the mechanical inputs to technical descriptions and project outputs, Provide support to modelling undertaken to support theproject, Provide support to the HAZID/HAZOP process- Integrating the subsystem into the train- Defining the Interface for the dedicated subsystem- Verifying of the subsystem (focus on train level) including design reviewsRequirements:* Relevant Degree or equivalent* More than 5 years in Railway Rolling Stock engineering* Understanding of the system engineering process* Defining and implementing the functional, performance, transverse, and requirements of the dedicated subsystem* Ability to create new and innovative designs in Catia V5 is idealPlease click Apply if you are interested and we will give you a call if your application is successful
