Job Description

We are AMS. Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for Machinists on a 12-Month contract based within the Clients site in Derby.Machinist Duties and Competencies:

  • This is a skilled machinist role so, you will have completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship, including NVQ 3 or equivalent (certificates are required before interview).
  • You will be able to demonstrate CNC machining experience which will include precision machining, preferably to aerospace standards.
  • You will be confident in interpreting engineering drawings for use with precision measuring equipment.
  • You will have knowledge of a wide range of inspection techniques including calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
The working schedule for this Machinist role is Monday to Friday on a variable 3-shift pattern (8 hours per shift), or a 4 on - 4 off pattern including weekends (12 hours per shift).If you are interested in applying for the Machinist position and meet the criteria outlined above, please click the link to apply and we will contact you with an update in due course.Please note that due to recent changes in Off Payroll (IR35) legislation, our client only operates with contractors that operate via a PAYE or Umbrella model.
