Job Description Heath, Safety and Environment Subject Matter Expert - Property and ProjectsDerbyAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Heath, Safety and Environment Subject Matter Expert in Property and Projects to join Rolls Royce HS&E SME Team in Derby.As a member of the SME team you will be a recognised expert in property and project matters contributing to Group and Functional strategies. You will be aware of regulatory changes and their impact upon the function and wider business, support the PropertyExecutive Management Team on HSE issues, provide HSE advice and support for the development and sustainment of Property Contracts, and work with our service partners to deliver HSE improvements. You will also provide advice and support on fire risk reductionand emergency planning.Your role will be to support our businesses on their Journey to Zero Harm through a range of professional services enabling you to deep dive into Risk, Assurance, and Compliance. In addition you will be one of the companys primary points of contact in yourchosen subject matter ensuring the provision and maintenance of control standards and development requirements.Every great product needs a great business behind it.   • Risk ManagementEnsure HS&E critical controls and risks are identified and managed during projects. Seek out significant business changes and support the sites/businesses in ensuring effective management of change is applied
  • Identify the common and specific emergency infrastructure and scenarios liaising with site, and business stakeholders to develop effective emergency responses
  • Update, maintain and communicate HSE Standards and legal compliance requirements and support site and business assurance programs. Liaise with regulators where licensing/permitting requirements maybe required
  • Stakeholder EngagementIdentify, prioritise and engage with HS&E stakeholders relevant to your SME disciplines. Use good communications practices to support improvement, influence and change both internally and externally
  • Shared learning - Carryout and support incident investigations as required. Ensure learning is shared across the sites/businesses/group and learnings from elsewhere are considered to develop robust improvement plans. Monitor and review action closure statusarising from major incidents. Facilitate and lead communication forums (Communities of Practice) relating to your high consequence hazardous discipline
  • Provide HSE advice and support for projects across all the Rolls-Royce businesses guiding them on best practice and legal compliance.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
  • Ideally degree qualified in an engineering discipline (or equivalent) and/or professional certifications (CMISOH/AIEMA or equivalent)
  • Trained in risk assessment techniques covering inputs to design, changes to current processes and output requirements, you will assist in the identification of hazards assessing the level of residual risk and treatment actions
  • Experience working across a range of Construction/ Installation projects
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with regulators / senior managers taking a stand when the situation demands it
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders in a large complex organisation
