Michael Page have been appointed to recruit for an 3-6 month interim opportunity based in Derby We are proud to be partnering with a long standing business who have recently experienced a period of growth.Client DetailsMichael Page have been appointed to recruit for an 3-6 month interim opportunity based in Derby We are proud to be partnering with a long standing business who have recently experienced a period of growth.DescriptionWe are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join this specialist manufacturing business as the Health and Safety Manager. This key leadership role requires a strong background in Health and Safetypreferably.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the HSE team, promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and evaluate existing HSE processes, policies, and procedures to identify areas for improvement and develop appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, industry standards
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Lead incident investigation processes, analysing root causes, and implementing preventive measures to minimize the risk of recurrence.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees at all levels, promoting awareness and understanding of best practices.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of QHSE initiatives and report on performance to senior management.
Profile
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related disciplines) is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in a HSE role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven track record of implementing effective HSE management systems, driving cultural change, and delivering measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop practical solutions.
