Graduate Design Engineer - Power Infrastructure Derby, Driffield OR BelfastUp to £29k + benefits package & 2 year structured career developmentOur client is a leading consultancy who provide engineering and professional planning services to the power and renewable energy sectors. They specialise in the design and survey of Overhead Lines, Underground Cables, and Substation Systems from LV to EHV inthe UK and internationally playing a crucial role in fighting climate change and helping with the energy transition to Net Zero.Our client is working closely with the likes of National Grid. This means that the engineers are heavily involved with interesting and technically challengingwork which requires creative thinking to find a solution. The roleDue to our clients expanding workload their Design Office requires a Graduate Engineer to join their team and support on the projects.The successful candidate will be part of a project design team responsible for successfully delivering projects to cost, exacting standards and project timescales during the conceptual, detailed design and construction phases.The role will require a good understanding of Engineering principles and practical application of British Standard and Eurocode Design.Key responsibilities;* Providing engineering support for the delivery of a portfolio of projects* Assess engineering documentation, feasibility and compliance with client requirements and support the preparation of accurate budgets for new projects. * Carrying out relevant calculations, analysis and modelling.* Liaise, where necessary, with clients to ensure satisfactory progress and quality* Preparation and review of reports.* Learn the practice of structural and overhead line engineering, as well as all the other disciplines and roles that are needed to design and deliver a project successfully.* Keep abreast of all legislation particularly health and safety and CDM* Working with the team, cooperating, helping others, taking instructions, giving instructions, solving problems together* Agreeing deadlines & working together effectively with the rest of the team. * Taking responsibility for the quality and timely delivery of your work, for your own learning and professional development.* The control of documents and drawings in accordance with management procedures. * The design of OHL routes working with the OHL Senior Design Designer. * Maybe required from time-to-time to undertake site visits and include entry to operational substations where compliance with safety rules and procedures is mandatory.The candidateWe are looking for an ambitious and dynamic individual with a passion to apply their degree to help in the energy transition to reach net zero.
