Job Description

General Catering Manager - DerbyUp to £40,000 per annumFree parking & Meal on shift.We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to oversee a high volume, 24/7 unit based in Derby.We provide services for the customers on site 24 hours, 7 days a week. We have a set formula to deliver the catering services across thesite. You will be part of the management team delivering to customerson a daily basis. This is a fastpaced service and you will need to have experience within a demanding 24/7 site. You will be responsible to manage all aspects of the service with the support of your management team.The General Manageris responsible for managing the daily operations of a full catering services, food safety, health & safetyalong with driving our Net Zero strategy.   • Plan, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food ensuring that the company’s reputation for quality is enhanced with customers and clients at all times
  • Taking responsibility for the food production with a hands-on approach
  • Achieve a consistent GP through accurate delivery of concepts, offers and procedures
  • Ensurethe unit chef teams & operations team support and drive sales by implementing central marketing offers and operational best practices
  • Strategic planning to ensure marketing is in place for upcoming theme days and events
  • Coaching unit culinary teamto ensure that the required standards are achieved at all times in units.
  • Developand maintain good working relationships with existing client
  • Responsible for all aspects of food safety, HS and COSHH
  • To implement and maintain food monitoring procedures to facilitate budgetary control and to monitor all costs involved in the kitchen against agreed budgets
  • Understand and deliver all contractual terms
  • Communicate any on site client changes to line manager.
  • Communicate regularly with client (as agreed)
  • Manage the processing of food orders, the receipt and storage of deliveries
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas
  • Ensure the correct use of all machinery and equipment
  • All food wastage is recorded and minimised
  • Team are supported, trained, coached and develop
  • Labour turnover is monitored, and team is fully recruited
  • Produce and utilise succession plan
  • Perform other general tasks to support effective food service delivery as reasonably requested
  • 5+ years experience as a Catering / Chef Manager with experience of overseeing a demanding 24/7 site.
  • Experience of managing a team of 10+ employees.
  • Strong Culinary Background.
  • Strong HR skills to manage large team.
  • Experience of Strategic Marketing
  • Experience of Menu planningto ensure variety, presentation, innovation and driving sales in unit.
  • Good communication skillsto liaise with day to day client.
  • Ability to produce reports and sales information for monthly client meetings.
  • Have a proactive approach to seasonal demands from the client and key annual events.
  • Retail and commercial skills are a must.
  • Friendly and approachable, with the management skills to develop and manage a team.
  • A can-do attitude.
  • Computer literate.
  • Due to location, a driving licence & access to a vehicle is ideal.
