Job Description

Forensic Reporting Examiner - SeniorLocation - DerbyshireSector - ForensicsSalary - £30,000 - £35,000Full-time, permanent roleOur client is a leading player in the forensic analysis field based in Derbyshire, who are offering a reporting-focused opportunity for a hard-working senior forensic professional to join their Forensics team. The role is well suited to individuals withexisting expertise working in forensic reporting, specifically with prior experience reporting on drugs of abuse. The role is also aimed at those with extensive experience conducting drug sample analysis within a toxicology lab. Applicants must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.The RoleAs a Forensic Reporting Examiner, you will be responsible for:

  • Independently processing and producing reports (both fact and opinion based) meeting the relevant regulatory standards,
  • Presenting reports to junior staff and clients (police forces), being the primary contact for procedural and technical advice (including attending court),
  • Carrying out second checks of reports,
  • Ensuring the laboratory conforms to all quality standards (UKAS / ISO17025 / GLP).
Skills and Experience RequiredAn ideal candidate will have:
  • A minimum of 5 years residence in the UK(essential for vetting and security clearance)
  • Comprehensive experience conducting forensic reports for cases involving drugs of abuse (ideally to a senior level),
  • Or extensive experience analysing drug samples within a toxicology lab
  • Existing skills in using enhanced methods for drug analysis reporting,
  • A degree-level (or equivalent) qualification in a forensic/chemistry discipline,
  • Knowledge of the chemistry of drug analysis techniques,
  • Operating analytical equipment such as GCMS/GCFID,
  • Understanding of current legislation relating to drugs of abuse.
The PackageOur client is offering this opportunity as a full time, permanent opportunity. The starting salary offered is between £30,000 and £35,000, with a strong benefits package.
