Job Description

Job title: EstimatorLocation: Derby with the option of hybrid working Salary: £50,000 - £55,000We have an exciting opportunity to join our client as an Estimator.Client:Our client is a leading Steel Engineering and Fabrication business and has worked on projects in over 50 countries.Responsibilities:

  • To reads and understand enquiry documentation for formulating tenders.
  • Undertake manual and electronic take offs from Structural Engineering drawings.
  • Understand and interpret quantity schedules produced from 3D models.
  • Understand and incorporate pricing of sub-contract support trades.
  • Present the bid strategy, risk profile and commercial aspects of a bid to internal stakeholders.
Experience Needed:
  • Educated to HNC in construction materials and/or BSc in Quantity Surveying or MSc but dependent upon experience.
  • Must have knowledge of estimating for steel and timber structures.
  • Engaging communicator who can articulate themselves clearly and build solid relationships with people.
  • Commercially aware, with sound contract management knowledge and a solid negotiator.
