Job Description

Our client are a large national social housing organisation who require an Electrician to undertake electrical and repairs and maintenance work and provide high quality, ‘right first time’, cost effective building services to the business and its customers across their Derby and Nottingham stock.Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:• Identify and undertake Electrical and associated work as directed• Ensure levels of productivity and work within the required timescales/categories or to targets• Receive, plan and complete job orders on time and to quality• Ensure that all relevant documentation is processed and systems are completed in a timely manner• Undertake essential reinstatement work as necessary in order to ensure premises are left in a safe secure and weather tight condition• Undertake work on electrical installations in accordance with the latest IEE Wiring Regulations, currently 18th Edition• Carry out fault finding and diagnostic work as required to repair and maintain electrical installations• Carry out inspection and testing on existing installations as work progresses and on completed work recording results and completing appropriate test certification• Take a pro active approach and reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their activities at work, including occupants, visitors and members of the public• Report on any hazards or unsafe practices to their supervisor• Undertake visual inspection of all tool, equipment and where appropriate vehicles ensuring they work correctly, reporting any defects• Ensure protective clothing and Health and Safety equipment provided is used correctly and when required, in accordance with risk assessments• Follow agreed procedures when working in occupied properties to ensure resident safety and security• Maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to health in accordance with the organisations Safety, Health and Environment policy• Ensure you comply with company policy, follow the Highway Code and exercise due car and attention when driving a company vehicle• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues / clients / customers and work as part of a team• Deal courteously and efficiently with clients, customers and the general to maintain and enhance the reputation of the organisation• Continually demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Customer Care• Ensure there is clear communication with customers in respect of work to be undertaken and following completion of the jobPersonal Competencies Skills / Experience / Knowledge:Essential Criteria:• Qualification at NVQ 3 or equivalent• Qualification City & Guilds 2361 part 1,2 and AM2 or equivalent• Qualification 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations• City & Guilds 239/1 Inspection and Testing or equivalent• Asbestos AwarenessDesirable Criteria:• PASMA Qualification• Ability to read Construction Drawings• Experience of working within a Social Housing environmentAdditional info:- This role is on an initial 3 month contract with view to going permanent afterwards.- Hours are 8-4:30 or 9:30-6 Monday- Friday.- Will be on a weekly call out rota (once a month) which entitles you to £150 p/w on top of hourly date plus £35 per call out as well as hourly rate for any call outs worked over 2 hours.Benefits include:- 28 days holiday plus bank holidays- 9% pension contribution- Power Tools, Van, PPE and Phone provided
