We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to theirlives.About the Role:Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to thegovernments Green Paper for Young Peoples Mental Health.Action for Children have been commissioned by Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group to establish 2 new Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) and continue the delivery of 4 recently established MHSTs teams across 6 Centres of Excellence.MHSTs will provide mental health and emotional wellbeing support to children and young people and their families and carers through schools in the Centre of Excellence areas. Each MHST will support several schools and colleges, covering a population ofaround 8,000 children and young people.We are currently looking for 2 EMH Practitioner Supervisors, with one to be based at the Noel Baker Academy in Derby and the other at Lady Manners School, Bakewell.As an Emotional Mental Health Practitioner Supervisor youll be:

  • Care co-ordinating and managing a defined and complex caseload of children and young people presenting with emotional health and wellbeing difficulties in schools.
  • Co-ordinating and delivering individualised care packages / programmes for children and young people and evaluate these programmes.
  • Providing clinical supervision to EMH Practitioners.
  • Providing specialist mental health advice, consultation and signposting using an outcome-based triage model, to schools.
  • Developing training packages or using existing training tools to provide training to schools.
  • Actively promoting the whole school-based approach to developing and maintaining emotional health and well-being.
  • Supervising and mentoring students and less experienced members of the team.
  • Planning and facilitating appropriate therapeutic interventions including group work for the specialist client group and their families and carers.
  • Working closely with the school-based and community health professionals.
What Youll Bring:Our job description for the Emotional Mental Health Practitioner Supervisor outlines the requirements of the role but the must-haves are:
  • Specialist training in a subject/skill relevant to Child & and Adolescent Mental Health (0-18 years).
  • PgCert CYP IAPT Clinical Supervision/CPD EMHP Clinical Supervision (or willingness to undertake this as part of role).
  • Relevant post registration experience in a setting where mental health is the primary focus.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate risk/care plans to meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Ability to maintain and manage own workload and work autonomously within the specialist area.
  • Willingness and ability to develop specialist knowledge of clinical aspects of child & adolescent mental health.
