Job Description

Cordius are recruiting for a Dispute Resolution Paralegal in Derby. Our client employs over 200 within the midlands across more than 5 offices, this position is for their head office and is a great opportunity to work within their Dispute Resolution Department.Full time - 35 hours per week:Monday - Friday: 9.00 am - 5.00 pmPurpose & Objective of Job:Conduct Fee Earning activities for EC 261/2004 flight delay claims and general dispute settlement issues. Meet set performance objectives and undertake other responsibilities as designated by the Partners.Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing your own caseload of litigated claims (mostly claims assigned to the Small Claims Track), including drafting pleadings, complying with instructions, negotiating settlements where appropriate, instructing Counsel/Agents, processing payments, andinvoicing.
  • Communicating pertinent information to the client and other stakeholders.
  • Ensuring financial goals are fulfilled on an individual and team level.
  • Participating in business growth efforts.
  • You must have great communication skills (both written and verbal), experience with time management, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. A familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules and EC 261/2004 is desirable, however training will be offered.
  • Represent the interests of airlines in personal injury cases involving airline passengers
  • Drafting legal briefs
  • Directing Counsel and Agents
  • Receiving instructions from clients and then advising and liaising with them
Experience Required:
  • Small Claims Track Matters
  • Word processing and typing
  • General office processes
Qualifications Required:
  • Law Degree
