Job Description

Staff365 are recruiting for a Data Cabling Engineer on a permanent basis on behalf of our client located in Derby.Our client are a highly successful business in the delivery of large-scale corporate connectivity solutions within existing, new build and refurbishment environments delivering across campus, office, warehouse, factory and CDM environments.Salary: £25,000-£32,000 DOE + Company vehicleHours of Work: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00Additional benefits:

Overview:As Data Cabling Engineer you will in the main be required to work from the Key operating location, as required extending into Secondary operating regions and from time to time work throughout the UK, with the possibility of occasional overseas work. Traveland overnight stays will be necessary to meet business needs. We are searching for a dependable, enthusiastic individual to, based on skills and experience, join our clients engineering team as either a Level 1, 2 or 3 engineer.Responsibilities:
  • The installation, termination and testing of data (Cat6/Cat6a) and fibre cabling and associated installation of containment and pathways.
  • Deployment of different containment systems such as conduit, trunking, tray, and basket.
  • Data cabinet installation and patching.
  • Installation of wifi access points.
  • UPS installation//maintenance.
  • Perform installations in accordance with the provided Method Statement and Risk Assessment.
  • Ability to meet targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Find and diagnose faults in structured cabling systems.
  • Ensuring that all customer requirements are met
  • Completing all job-related paperwork to the required standards.
  • Assist as required across other areas of the business.
Experience required:
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years experience working on data cabling installation projects.
  • Understanding of JSP604 Leaflet 4800 Regulations for the Installation of Communications Technology (Formally JSP480).
  • Experience of operating in a telecommunications/electrical and CDM environment.
  • Knowledge of data/electrical cabling installation standards and practices
  • Possess an in depth understanding of Tempest/Security Regs.
  • Hold various Health and safety training qualifications including IPAF, PASMA, confined spaces.
  • CNET CNCI qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Basic IT and networking skills.
