My client are looking to recruit a Category Buyer within the Purchasing Department. This is a brand new role within the company, to support the business to further expand the product portfolio and improve service levels and product availability to our customers.Client DetailsMy Derby based client are an established and highly-reputable manufacturer of medical and pharmaceutical products. The core competency of the business is in-house manufacturing of medical products, whilst the business model is split 50/50 (in terms of volumeand value) between manufacturing and distribution.My client have recently become employee owned and as a result, colleagues have a heightened interest in the strategy of the organisation.DescriptionThe primary function of this Category Buyer role is to ensure inventory levels are frequently checked, timely purchase orders are raised to local and international suppliers. The role is also to ensure shipments are organised and processed to arrive in atimely manner.Working within a team of 6 people, you will be responsible for a portfolio of approximately £2m spend and 30 key manufacturing partners.This role is a key part in the overarching company goal of servicing our customers on time in full, working towards a 99% OTIF throughout our supply chain, into our customer.ProfileThe successful candidate for this Category Buyer role will have experience within a purchasing or materials planning role. Exposure to a pharmaceutical / medical, electronics or FMCG background would be highly desirable.In addition, strong experience of working with MRP systems and Microsoft Office is essential.Job OfferThe successful candidate will be offered c. £30,000 plus a competitive benefits package.
