Job Description

Home Care AssistantPart time hours across Derby inc. Spondon, Borrowash, Chaddesden, Alvaston & Aston-on-Trent From 0700-1700Derby - £10.00- £14.67 per hour - Weekly PayWe are recruiting an experienced home care assistant to support our service users across the Derby area. Some of our clients require short visits (no less than half an hour), whilst other require extended shifts to meet a multitude of needs (up to 12 hours).We work to support a diverse range of diagnoses; Dementia, Motor Neurone Disease, Acquired Spinal Injury, Parkinsons and Challenging Behaviour. Each client has a detailed care plan written with them to ensure that all care staff conduct visits to their specifiedrequirements and within legislation. We really do have something for all - and we offer fully funded NVQs to those who wish to pursue a certified qualification.You would be supporting individuals to live independently within their own homes, on a flexible roster, and would have consistent individuals with whom you would build a rapport with. Your role will include:

  • Prompting and administering medication
  • Helping with the preparation of meals and drinks
  • Assisting with activities of daily living such domestic duties and personal care
  • Supporting community visits
  • Maintaining and updating reports such as care plans
  • Undertaking training for Complex Care Interventions - this could lead to further training to support individuals who require Suctioning, Ventilation and PEG with further pay enhancements.
Being employed as a Carer by us means:
  • Support and 1:1 training from our Branch Nurses for Complex Interventions such as Rectal Medications, Bladder Wash Outs and Epilepsy Rescue Medications

Were looking for:
  • Outgoing and dynamic individuals with a person-centred approach
  • Ability to work well within a wider team to underpin support and to strive for excellence in all tasks
  • Paid previous experience within the Health Care Sector (hospital setting, Care Home setting or Community Setting)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A drivers licence & your own car to travel to shifts is essential
  • Good professional and personal references
