Job Description

Recruitment | Training | Business Advice & ConsultancyVacancy profileJob Title: Buyer ExpeditorLocation: DerbySalary: £25,000-£28,000Type: Full Time, PermanentOur client is looking for a Buyer Expeditor to join their team in Derby. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be a key member of the team.The RoleKey responsibilities of the role will be:

  • To liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and provide updates on customer critical parts.
  • To work with the demand planners to make sure the ordering signal is correct, and inventory is controlled and monitored for potential exposure to our customers.
  • To collect, interpret and analyse data and report findings back to the relevant members of the business.
  • To identify patterns and trends in data sets and display results in a range of graphical formats.
  • To provide general purchasing and expediting services to the company covering the purchase of materials, goods and services and achieving the agreed KPI targets.
  • To support the Purchasing Manager with any analysis or reports that maybe required.
  • To set up and monitor visual displays on supplier performance and report back to the Purchasing Manager.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of robust and controlled processes and procedures within the Supply Chain function.
  • To manage the appropriate administrative tasks required to maintain the smooth running of the department e.g. raising enquiries, orders, producing reports of a written and numerical nature.
  • To develop relationships with internal customers within the business in order to continually improve the quality of service provided by the department.
  • To maintain our MRP system by updating supplier dates regularly and clearing MRP daily.
  • To control and monitor Supply Chain buffer levels and progress chase buffer replenishments working with the Demand Manager
  • The Candidate
  • Strong, confident, and professional communicator (written and spoken)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers
  • An analytical mind and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to analyse large datasets and identify patterns & trends
  • Advanced knowledge of all MS office applications, mainly in excel
  • Good teamwork skills, able to communicate and interact with other departments
  • Strong admin and organization skills
  • High level of accuracy in input work and keen eye for detail
  • Driven and proactive approach to problem solving.
