Job Description

Business Analyst - Derby - £25,000 + BenefitsThis is an excellent commercial analyst position which is a critical hire for our impressive Derby based client. The role centres around planning and forecasting product demand and assisting the business to maximise revenues and profits. Key areas of the role include forecasting daily, weekly, and seasonal product levels and assisting the business to optimise its sales.Key areas of the role:

  • Utilising the data in the companys systems to produce daily and weekly sales forecasts and assist operations.
  • Assisting with the pricing and forecasting demand for new product lines.
  • Assisting marketing decisions by identifying and forecasting demand.
  • Working with operations and sales to build intelligence in order to accurately forecast future demand.
  • Identifying under-performing business units.
  • Developing strong working relationships within Operations.
  • Tracking the impact of new products and price revisions on sales and inform the senior management team.
  • Maintaining competitive awareness by continuously monitoring the competition and local market conditions to be able to react to maintain the Company’s business advantage.
  • Engaging, informing, and educating each key stakeholder with the decision-making rationale and logic behind the forecasting strategy.
  • Liaising with Operations to ensure supply chain capacity for any substantial increase in specific products by providing forecast updates and analysis.
    • The ideal candidate will have:
  • A strong analytical mindset alongside excellent IT data modelling skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The desire to work as part of a team to generate fresh and innovative ideas and solutions.
  • A demonstrated proficiency in statistics and forecasting methodology with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
