Job Description

Varied role with a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, OMBs, SMEs, across varying industries and turnovers.Client DetailsHighly successful firm of accountants, based in central Derby has developed a strong reputation for delivering quality services, along with building strong relationships with its wide ranging client base, across varying industries and turnover size.The firm offers a very supportive and team focused environment, reflected by a low staff turnover and long serving staff.   • General accounting and bookkeeping work for a range of clients
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Processing of year end journal entries to clients accounting systems
  • Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Prepare management accounts from client cashbooks and liaise with clients, as necessary
  • Attend and work at client premises, as necessary
  • Establish a professional and confident working relationship with clients, dealing with telephone enquiries timeously, escalating queries as appropriate, in order to enhance the Firms reputation and business opportunities
    • Profile
  • HND, AAT or ACCA part-qualified or breadth of knowledge to equivalent level essential
  • Good numerical and data analysis skills
  • Must be able to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels from a variety of sectors
  • Client driven and commercially aware
  • Organised with the ability to cope with multiple responsibilities within tight deadlines
  • Sound technical knowledge with a proactive approach
  • Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to high standards of both personal and professional performance with the ability to take ownership of tasks
  • Computer literate with experience of various accounting packages including cloud based solutions. Experience of accounts production software is desirable
