Job Description

Assistant Finance Business Partner | Derby | £28,000-£35,000 | Hybrid workingMacildowie Finance is recruiting for a Junior Finance position for a large business in the Pride Park area of Derby. The role will work alongside a number of Finance Business Partners on all aspects of Finance in a Multi-Million turnover business in a fastpaced and dynamic sector.The position will allow the successful candidate to take ownership of several of the businesses financial aspects and offer development through full core accounting exposure, a medium sized and tenured team to learn from and excellent development opportunities. I am pleased to say the vacancy has come about through MAT cover and an internal promotion/secondmentto cover that role, so this is the role covering that person.This is a genuinely brilliant opportunity for a studying junior accountant to make an intelligent and progressive step in their career.The finance team will be playing an active part in leading and supporting the company in achieving its business objectives and revenue targets by providing key financial insight and control; whilst driving improvements to the operation and financial processes.So what is the job

  • Assist in the production of period end management accounting tasks, including the preparation of accounting adjustments (accruals and prepayments), variance analysis and presentation of accounts
  • Assist in the preparation and compilation of comprehensive budgets and forecasts ready for inclusion in company level financial models.
  • Take the lead on creation and distribution of budget packs to budget holders within agreed deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of management reporting of financial information, attend regular financial performance review meetings to discuss business performance.
  • Aid in completion of balance sheet reconciliations, taking ownership of specific pre-defined reconciliations
  • Support the finance team and business by developing financial models to aid in decision making.
  • lead on ensuring all recoverable costs are processed each period
  • Work with Shared Service Centre (SSC) on a regular basis, assisting with any accounts payable / receivable queries, providing financial support to the business
What are you like
  • CIMA/ACCA student (ideally AAT Qualified)
  • Understanding of financial fundamentals, including Debits and Credits Double Entry Bookkeeping)
  • Good level of Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, Sumifs
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to adapt to different tasks
  • Desire to ensure tasks are seen through to completion
  • Proactive, challenging nature
  • Team player
