Job Description

Technical Manager - FormulationSalary £40,000Permanent roleDeesideWe are recruiting for a Pharmaceutical Contract Research and Development company. They are an entrepreneurial business who have seen fantastic growth consistently over the years and are seeking an experienced formulation chemist to work as part of the Pharmaceutical Development team to deliver formulation development programmes.What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the project managers and team leaders to provide the technical/scientific oversight for projects against client agreed target product profiles.
  • Deliver scientifically sound pre-formulation and formulation protocols.
  • Act as technical support to the formulation team.
  • Author formulation development reports and presentations to document project findings and progress.
  • Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders.
  • Participate and lead client facing meetings (on site meetings and TCs).
  • Participate in activities to develop scientific knowledge further, for example, by attending relevant symposia/conference meetings and to disseminate this information to other members of the Pharmaceutical Development team.
  • Perform investigations and problem-solving activities using appropriate root cause analysis techniques.
  • Perform other duties required in a technical capacity as required by the business.
  • Support process development and production operation teams for scale up activities.
    • Your background:You will be educated to degree level in a relevant Chemistry-related discipline. Further postgraduate qualifications would be an advantage.We are seeking a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a formulation development roleA proven track record in non-sterile dosage form development is a pre-requisite.Expertise in solid dose process’s including powder characterisation, granulation, compression, capsule filling and coating are required.Ideally you will be an expert in the development, characterisation and scale up of modified release products. Experience in the development and scale up of solid dispersions would also be advantageous.On this occasion, LiCa Scientific is acting as an employment agency. Required skills
