If this is how you like to work then please read on.We are looking for an experienced Insight Analyst to join our Analytics team.Overview and Team:The Planning and Analytics team within eCommerce is a fast-paced business critical area undergoing a program of growth and investment in people to ensure we get the best out of our data and support the wider online trading strategy. The role is ideal fora data savvy candidate who wants be part of this exciting growth, someone who is willing to put in the work to contribute to this growth and be rewarded with the support and training to drive their own development and career within the Iceland family!The Role:At Iceland we have an incredibly rich data environment giving us the ability to mine, model and analyse everything from what people are buying to when and how they shop. The role of the Senior Customer Insight Analyst is to take this data and turn it intoactionable insight across the eCommerce team and help drive forward the Online trading strategy.Managing a team of analysts across the Customer Insight Team (part of the wider Planning and Analytics team), the senior analyst will be responsible for 4 main areas within the Ecommerce department:

  1. Segmentation:
Develop and refine how we segment and group our customers using multiple data sources and historical shopping behaviour and use this segmentation to articulate business performance.
  1. Behavioural Modelling:
Use both online and instore data environments to develop and enrich behavioural models to articulate customer shopping habits, predict changes in these habits and understand shifting behaviour within our customer segments.
  1. CRM Support:
Work closely with our CRM team to provide bespoke campaign data, develop new customer targeting and monitor the performance of campaigns through engagement and incremental sales.
  1. Customer Insight:
Produce both regular and ad hoc insights based on customer trends and develop action plans for the wider team based on these insights.The customer is at the heart of everything we do at Iceland so, alongside the four main areas supported by the Customer Insight Team; the Senior Customer Insight Analyst will be involved in all aspects of the Ecomm team from feeding into forecasting routines,developing and enhancing new data sources, to working with the trading teams to develop current and future sales strategy.Key Skills and Experience:Any candidate should have a passion for data and a curiosity for finding stories and insights that live within the numbers which sit behind everything we do. They should be able to work in an agile and fast paced environment and ensure their team is focussedon the right things at the right time. This role is not about doing the same thing every day, its about developing how we work and being innovative with how we use data.The majority of our data sits within SQL Server/Azure Data warehouses, so a good working knowledge of SQL is essential in this role alongside some experience in data modelling using SQL.Candidates should also have some experience in data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.Ideally the candidate should have had some exposure to CRM systems such as Salesforce.The role requires managing a team of junior analysts, but previous line manger experience is not essential as full support and training can be given for a candidate wanting to take on their first people management role.Other skills and competencies:
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including a proven track record in using Excel (or similar) to manipulate/interrogate data and present findings in an understandable and engaging way.
  • Create engaging presentations based on findings and articulate technical details to a non-technical audience.
  • The ability to gather, interpret and combine data from a multitude of sources and formats
  • The ability to deliver accurate, relevant and timely information, based on solid research
  • An awareness of the benefits data modelling.
A background within eCommerce or retail would be an advantage but not required.Alongside this we can offer you:
