You will be part of an exciting growth time within Iceland and will support the business in delivering value for our customers. You will report into the Trading FinanceManager, within the Commercial Finance Team. You do not need to have a financial background just have a keen eye for detail, enjoy turning complex numbers into compelling actions and enjoy leading a team.You will lead Cost and Margin Analysts to collectively provide data driven actionable insight to the Trading team, which can then be used to drive business performance. This will include supporting supplier negotiations and will have a broader focus on productcost and other drivers of margin. You will be expected to make evidence-based decisions using your own and others analysis and research into market conditions.Key Accountabilities:
  • Line management responsibility for Cost and Margin Analysts, including support and coaching as needed
  • Own and maintain certain pricing models, so they reflect latest commodity and market condition such as: climate change, inflation and topical news subjects
  • Lead, conduct and share relevant market and supplier research and analysis - using a wide range of tools and data sources
  • Work closely with Trading to ensure the insight being delivered by the team has demonstrable positive impacts on business performance
  • React quickly to emerging business challenges and support the leadership team with the information needed to meet these challenges
  • Build your teams and your own knowledge of the market and supply base
  You will possess the following skills:
  • Line Management experience
  • Ability to develop a team
  • Be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders, such that you and the team are aligned to support in the right way at the right time
  • Collaborative approach, including an ability to work with suppliers to identify and deliver cost saving opportunities: whilst always maintaining strong relationships
  Your Personal Attributes:
  • Previous experience leading and managing a team would be beneficial
  • Experience in Retail, Manufacturing or Commercial Analysis
  • An understanding of how data tools can be effectively used within a commercial environment
  • Ability to engage with Senior Stakeholders
  • An ability to get into the detail and fully understand the drivers of product cost, and how changing market conditions can impact these.
  • An ability to focus on the mid to long term in addition to dealing with the short-term priorities and pressures associated with a fast-paced FMCG environment
  • Be inquisitive
  • Have tenacity to be able to find solutions to problems.
