If this is how you like to work then please read on.An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Supply Chain Team here at Deeside as an Assistant Finance ManagerRole SummaryResponsible for: ensuring that all performance and financial inputs are received on a timely basis and updated on Icelands systems. Monitor and manage depot fuel usage, fleet costs and mileage records. Monitor and manage 3rd Party storage stock levels,transport costs and inter depot transfer costs. Support the production of Supply Chains weekly and period cost reporting and depot balance sheet reviews.Purpose of Role Key Accountabilities

  • Gain an understanding of the information provided to Iceland by our 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) providers, when it needs to be received by and what files need to be stored and/or updated.
  • Monitor the performance of our providers in providing accurate timely data to Iceland.
  • Ensure all relevant files are stored in the correct file locations and the data is updated in Icelands financial and performance monitoring files.
  • Update the weekly financial performance data submitted by our 3PL providers and support the Finance Manager in producing the weekly cost reports working towards being able to independently report Product Supply weekly costs to the business.
  • Monitor, validate and report to the Finance Manager the cost of 3rd Party storage and haulage costs. Inter depot transfers and other sundry costs such as stock disposal, so the costs can be accurately recorded in Icelands records.
  • Monitor depot weekly fuel usage and forward price fixtures to ensure the correct pricing is used for POs and our weekly cost reporting.
  • Monitor depot vehicle mileage records to establish the values of our self-billing tyre invoicing and to calculate the accruals needed to cover excess-mileage
  • Monitor depot vehicle fleet numbers and develop reporting to understand and challenge the number of vehicles used by the depots.
  • Support the Finance Manager in gaining an understanding of the cost drivers of our new International Depot and how best to monitor, manage and report the costs to the business
  • Support the Finance Manager in producing period accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • Support the Finance Manager in conducting reviews of Depot charges and balance sheets including attendance at depots to do so.
  • Identify key information held in Icelands data warehouses and develop queries to help Supply Chain Commercial better understand stock levels and Depot volume variances
  • Support the Finance Manager in maintaining proper cost records relating to strategic projects.
  • General support and cover for others in the Supply Chain Commercial function.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience/Technical Skills
  • Working towards an accounting qualification
  • Excel (Advanced)
  • Databases & SQL usage an advantage
  • SAP experience (or other accounting package)
  • Attention to detail, an enquiring mindset and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Confidence in communicating with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Logistics and/or general accounting experience would be an advantage
