Job Description

Pay:£17,874 - £20,118 StartDate: ASAP Weare looking for a Science Technician to join our newly-built Academy as soon aspossible. Goodwin Academy is a vibrant and engaging Key Stage 3-5 mixedAcademy, where everyone works and learns within a caring and supportiveenvironment. Whatwe can offer you:

    • Yournew role:
  • AsScience Technician, you will be responsible, under the direction of the Head ofScience for:
  • Providingprofessional and reliable support to Science teachers at the Academy
  • Managingthe technical provision for performances and events at Goodwin Academy and theAcademys outreach work
  • Assistingand developing the day-to-day running of the Science Department, and promotingthe work of the department internally and within the community
  • Ensuringthat backstage and technical Health and Safety is to the required standard,including general maintenance and reporting of any issues
  • Maintainingand operating science equipment for class use
    • Whatyoull need to succeed:
  • Cgrades or above at GCSE level (or equivalent) in Science, English andMaths
  • Priorknowledge or qualification in Science
  • Tobe committed to supporting students
  • Excellentinterpersonal skills
  • Effectivecommunicator both orally and in writing
  • EffectiveICT skills
  • Excellentorganisational and administrative skills
  • Experienceof working with children and young people
  • Understandingof the educational system and current developments
