Job Description

We are looking for compassionate Dementia Friends & Companions in the Dawlish area of Teignbridge, Devon. Previous experience is not required as full training is provided. It is essential that you are a car driver.We welcome applications from all ages (with no upper limit). Maybe you have worked in a different sector, or maybe you have had personal experience of caring for a loved one, it does not matter what job you have done in the past, if you have a big heart and the right qualities to care, then this could be the role for you.This homecare provider provides care visits to older adults living in their own homes and they have job vacancies in Dawlish, Teignmouth, Exminster, Bovey Tracey, Kingsteignton, Heathfield, Ashburton, Chudleigh, Cowick Barton, and surrounding areas. Could you help Florence Florence is 85 years old and has started to struggle with little things that so many of us find simple. She might struggle to follow simple steps such as following a recipe when cooking a meal, doing certain chores, she may even need some help with personal care from time to time. She can also get muddled with peoples’ names. However, she does love to sing, and music seems to always cheer her up and remind her of special memories. She can get lonely from time to time though as her children live so far away and she needs a bit more help round the house. Could you be the person to make a difference to FlorenceAs a Dementia Friend & Companion your role can involve:

  • Assisting with morning & evening routines.
  • Assisting with personal care.
  • Prompting to take any medications.
  • Taking them out shopping or for some exercise.
  • Preparing meals and light household duties.
  • Helping clients continue to live life to the full and do what they enjoy.
    • The Company You could be joining a family-run franchise different to any other care provider in the area. This homecare company provides a bespoke companionship led approach to care to older adults living in their own homes, supporting them to remain independent. Every visit is a minimum of 1-hour, so nothing is rushed, and you will stay with the same clients on an ongoing basis, allowing you develop a strong bond. The owner started the service to make a positive difference to people’s lives in his local community.   • £9.30 - £10.30 per hour plus paid travel time & paid mileage.
  • Full and part-time hours, hours will include early morning and/or late evenings & alternate weekends.
