Job Description

A permanent Quality Engineer is required for a manufacturing business in Darwen. This is a great opportunity that will offer career progression and an initially salary of c£40k.Excitingly there is also the potential for this position to be 37 hours over 4 days with Fridays off!Client DetailsAn SME manufacturing business based in Darwen that recently underwent a management buy out and is now in growth.DescriptionAs a Quality Engineer your duties will include however will not be limited to:

  • contributing and encouraging a Quality Culture: Think Quality and encourage others to do the same, promoting an understanding which ensures the discipline of standards and expectations are followed and met at all times.
  • managing the Quality System and ensuring relevant teams comply
  • conducting analysis and reporting weekly on KPIs and RCCAs
  • initiating and facilitating root cause and remedial action for internal and customer issues
  • auditing of processes ensuring control and adherence within the manufacturing environment.
  • dealing with customer representatives on NPI and quality concerns, including investigations on non-conformance and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
  • external audit compliance and documentation
  • New Product Introduction
ProfileThe successful Quality Engineer will have:
  • worked in a similar Quality Engineer position within manufacturing - ESSENTIAL
  • strong verbal and written communication skills - ESSENTIAL
  • the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team - ESSENTIAL
  • a working knowledge of APQP - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
  • a relevant engineering qualification or equivalent - DESIRABLE
