Job Description

VAT Director Job VacancyAre you a highly experienced accountant working at or above manager level with a specialist interest and skillset in the provision of VAT advice and compliance servicesAre you ready to start working with at Director level with one of the most respected firms of accountants in DartmouthAre you CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified with significant practice experience and a desire to lead a cohesive and productive team at an enhanced levelIf so, this VAT Director level could the perfect next step as you approach the peak of your career and wed be delighted to offer you a confidential call to discuss it in more detail.You must be able to demonstrate excellent advisory and communication skills, and youll need to always promote and strive for customer service excellence. Youll also be a self-starter who is motivated to see projects through to completion in a timely mannerand youll be able to inspire the junior team and impress the Partners with your innovative attitude and commercial business acumen.Job Purpose

  • Oversee the strategic and operational provision of VAT services and support clients to minimise VAT liabilities, support with compliance issues and give tax planning advice.
  • Monitor the VAT workflow for an extensive client base.
  • Provide expert knowledge for clients, advising on both reactive and proactive actions.
  • Communicate VAT laws in an easy-to-understand way for clients, providing clear strategies.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, confidently representing the firm to a high standard.
  • Confidently work with the Partners to attract new business opportunities to grow the firms VAT client portfolio, including networking events.
  • Scope potential risks and develop actionable solutions.

What were looking for
  • CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent.
  • A good understanding of VAT issues, and knowledge of ROW matters.
  • At least two years of accountancy practice experience.
  • Technically minded with a strong attention to detail.
  • Team player who can communicate across many disciplines, for both staff and clients.
  • Ability to manage resource and constructively support the team to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Good working under pressure with the ability to remain focused on meeting tight deadlines.
