Waking Nights - Support Worker (Learning Disabilities)Dartington, DevonSalary scale: £24,294.40 - £25,646.40 per annum (£11.68 - £12.33 per hour including an hourly night premium of £2.15)Working hours: Full-time - Nights (3 nights on, 3 nights off per week)Our client is looking for amazing full-time night Support Workers to join the team within their 10 bed Residential & Short Break Home in Dartington.About the RoleChildren and young people with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything our client does, and they want every person they support to have a great life with excellent outcomes. They couldnt achieve that without all the great SupportWorkers who join their care teams. It all starts with you!There is no such thing as a typical Support Worker. Our clients staff come from lots of different backgrounds, people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career, as well as experienced SupportWorkers. The one thing that links them all together is their desire to work with young learning-disabled people, make their lives better and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence. Our clients Support Workers certainlydont see what they do as just another job.As a full-time Support Worker, you will work from 9:15pm to 9:15am during term-time and Saturdays, and during school holidays from 8:00pm - 8:00am, with a working pattern of 3 nights on, 3 nights off.About UsOur client is a learning disability charity based at Dartington in Devon. Across the local area, they have children & adults residential homes, a further education college and community based programs.They believe in the rights of all individuals with a learning disability, however complex, to receive the services and support they need to develop the skills and confidence to reach their full potential. Our client is committed to safeguarding and promotingthe welfare of children and young adults and they expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.About YouIdeally, you will have previous experience in this sector and hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Though this qualification is by no means essential, a willingness to gain the qualification within 2 years is required.
