Start Date: December 2020 Pay: KR3 We wish to appoint an excellent and enthusiasticTeaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team immediately. We arelooking for a TA with flexibility, experience in learning support and theability to contribute to our schools community and vision. The successfulapplicants will be sensitive to childrens varying needs, but be able to workunder the guidance of the teaching team, Inclusion Manager and LeadershipTeam. Applicants should preferably be qualified to NVQ 2,and have some knowledge of the development and learning styles of children andspecial educational needs. A knowledge of and experience of techniques andresources for working with pupils with speech and language needs and ASD isneeded for the post. The post will be for 27 hours a week and be will bea temporary contract until July 2021, but this could be extended. Candidates will be judged on both their capabilityfor the post and their suitability for working with children. The school iscommitted to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and youngpeople and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. It isalso committed to ensuring that all staff employed at the school has obtainedsatisfactory Disclosure Barring Service clearance. Closing Date: 25/11/2020 at 12:00 Interviews: Tuesday 1st December 20 Information about the school A school was first established in the village ofHorton Kirby in 1857 and the present school, which combined the village schoolsof Horton Kirby and South Darenth, was opened by the Bishop of Tonbridge in1970. The building consists of eleven classrooms. Adjacent to these arelibraries, resource and play areas. The school hall is used for dining,assemblies, gymnastics and games. The roll is currently 284, organised into 10classes. The school has developed close links with thecommunity and the Church. Parents are always welcomed into the school and manywork alongside the professional staff supporting reading, maths skills,computing, cooking, etc. We aim to provide a caring, stimulating, welldisciplined atmosphere at the school. To this end staff work co-operatively andprofessionally together to provide for our pupils. As of February 2020, theschool has been graded GOOD in all areas by OFSTED. This school also received aGOOD in our SIAMs (Church) inspection March 2016. Our School and all its personnel are committed tosafeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children.
