Job Description

Management AccountantVenn Group is currently supporting on multiple opportunities to work for several NHS organisations based in South East of England. These are the Management Accountant roles paying between £20 and £26 per hour. These roles will be on temporary contracts lastingan initial 3 months with the likelihood for extensions. We are looking for candidates who are on short notice or can start immediately, please apply if you believe you match the below specification.Please see below the requirements for the roles:

  • Responsible for ensuring all management accounting duties are fulfilled. This will include the annual budget-setting process, in-year monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis, and timely provision of training, advice and information to budget holders
  • Design, develop and maintain monitoring and control reports for use by the Management Accounts Team
  • Develop and maintain databases for use by the Business Analytics Team and staff throughout the Trust
  • Develop and maintain the Trusts activity and costing systems
  • To meet regularly with budget managers to ensure that any potential financial or performance problems are identified early enough for corrective action to be effective and that robust income, expenditure and cash forecasts are regularly produced. This mayinclude, but is not limited to, benchmarking of services with other organisations or identifying opportunities from the Trusts PLICS system
  • To participate in and contribute to the formulation and implementation of Divisional business plans in accordance with the Trusts strategic aims and objectives. To provide support and advice on financial and non-financial aspects of the business plans
  • Work on own initiative within professional guidelines to achieve agreed objectives
  • Take a proactive approach to developing own skills and experience and that of others
Essential skills:
  • Experience in working in NHS organisations is essential
  • Experience in providing highly complex financial advice and information to one or more directorates by the investigation, analysis, manipulation and presentation of data from integrated finance and information systems
  • Experience in planning and organising a broad range of projects and other work within allocated Directorates
Person specification:
  • Able to analyse highly complex problems relating to business cases and make judgements on financial and business decisions relating to the allocation of finances
  • Work on own initiative within professional guidelines to achieve agreed objectives
  • Take a proactive approach to developing skills and experience
  • Specialist knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programmes (particularly Access and Excel)
  • Advanced data analysis and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of NHS and social care services and working practices
