Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Warrington £DOE + Package

If so, then please see below.....Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Warrington £DOE + Package Huxley Associates and an Engineering Innovator in Advanced Robotics & Automated Machinery are looking to recruit a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer on a staff basis, owing to the continued growth of the company and to meet current & future projectdemands for 2022-2023+.Based out of our Warrington Office, the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be producing innovative machinery & robotic design solutions for technically complex, real-world applications and working in a multi-disciplined design team (incorporatinga programme manager, mechanical design engineers, software developers and hardware Engineers).The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Working as part of a multidiscipline team to specify, design, implement and test specialist robotic applications.
  • Produce mechanical design drawings and bills of materials using 3D CAD
  • Identify high risk and safety critical areas of designs.
  • Carry out calculations, proof of concept and testing as required to de-risk.
  • Regular communication with others involved in the design and development process.
  • Manage procurement of mechanical design from a global supply network.
  • Adhere to design schedules and maintain agreed product attributes.
  • Support sales and applications teams in offering robust solutions to customers, including new and novel concepts.
  • Participate in design risk assessments to BS EN 12100-2010 and ensure designs meet regulatory guidelines and machinery safety legislation.
  • Mentoring of team members.
  • Support mechanical design manager in improving design processes and design team.
Requirements for the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Role:
  • HND Or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Previous concept design experience in mechanically complex assemblies / complex electromechanical systems such as Aircraft Landing Gear Landing, Machinery, Robotics, Lab Instrumentation etc
  • 3D CAD Design experience (ideally Solidworks - Other CAD Packages considered re AutoDesk Inventor, ProE, Catia etc)
  • Ability to carry out calculations to support designs (structural and motion calculations with light FEA work to back up calculations).
  • Experience of Proof of concept/development work.
  • Understanding of machinery regulations and the health and safety aspects of machinery design.
  • Understanding of CE and UKCA documentation and certification.
  • Understanding and GPS tolerancing systems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Flexible team worker.
  • Experience of working to well documented QA processes.
