So, if this sounds like the ideal next move for you, read on!The RoleAs a Shift Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day performance of our thermal treatment plant in the processing of up to 155,000 tonnes of residual non-hazardous waste annually.You will maximise the availability of the plant, taking steps to improve performance shortfalls and reliability. Applying your practical knowledge of turbines and generators, you will oversee our machinery and augment engineering solutions.As a key member of the management team, you will participate in recruitment, selection, reviews and training, and build and maintain an excellent working culture, providing leadership and direction to the Production Shift Team.Additionally, you will:- Implement our health, safety and environmental management policies- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs- Supervise first line fault finding, technical advice and back up- Oversee electrical distribution systems including switching up to 33KV- Act as emergency controller, managing emergencies in line with local procedures- Produce incident reports for generation loss, health, safety and environmental incidentsAbout YouTo be considered as a Shift Team Leader, you will need:- A minimum of five years power plant operations experience, operating from a control room in a supervisory role- Knowledge and experience of thermal power plant process, permit and safety systems, HV switching and switchgear, steam cycle chemistry, performance monitoring, reading technical drawings, computers and computer applications- Experience assisting operational teams to manage a unionised workforce- The ability to identify and implement positive change programmes- A good understanding of all HSE aspects- Good commercial awareness, including preparation of investment proposals and budget management- An understanding of safe and efficient traffic management within a busy environment- IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, Nisoft Eclipse, Gladis and ERP programs (CMMS)- At a minimum, an HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline with a high level of practical operational and/or maintenance experience and/or knowledge (qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience)A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification would be preferable.
