Job Description

RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a global flexible packaging supplier in their search for a Print Assistant to join their team in Dalkeith.The business offers a range of customised packaging solutions across a product portfolio that includes multi-layer barrier laminates, pouches and speciality bags, and surface print/mono web reel fed-roll stock.The Role: As a Print Assistant, you will collaborate with the lead printer to contribute to the smooth operation of a cutting-edge printing press and be instrumental in ensuring productivity targets are met and that quality standards are upheld.Print Assistants work on a 3-shift pattern, 1400 – 2200, 0600 – 1400, and 2200 – 0600.Key Responsibilities:

  • Prep raw materials for press operation, loading reels onto the unwind unit.
  • Assist with loading and unloading plate cylinders and anilox rollers.
  • Maintaining ink supply, monitoring reservoirs, and ensuring correct ink viscosities.
  • Keep spare anilox rollers and equipment clean and ready for use.
  • Assemble and dismantle doctor blade units efficiently.
  • Prepare cylinder gears, hubs, and spleens for seamless shifts.
  • Handle delicate printing plates, ensuring theyre well-maintained.
  • Support job changeovers swiftly and effectively.
  • Keep the work area clean, tidy, and well-organized.
