Job Description

Job Title: Learning Support AssistantLocation: East LondonSecondary SchoolsWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our partner secondary schoolin East London in September.The successful candidate will primarily support students at KS3 and KS4 level, providing assistance in various subjects and ensuring their academic progress. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with students, teachers, and parentsto create a positive and inclusive learning environment.Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing the learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, focusing on GCSE-level subjects.
  • Help students develop their understanding of key concepts, skills, and knowledge required for their GCSE examinations.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Support students with their assignments, coursework, and exam preparation.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback and reporting to the teacher.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, encouraging student engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with the teacher and other teaching assistants to implement effective teaching strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar educational role is preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge and familiarity with the GCSE curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to provide individualised support to students with varying learning needs.
  • Organisational skills to assist with lesson planning, resource preparation, and record keeping.
  • A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students lives.
